Aro Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

Fischer Hunt, doing business as Aro Computer Co. (“Aro,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the websites and products described in this policy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose personal information, and the choices available to you.

About this policy

This policy applies to aro.computer and its subdomains, our products, and communications with us. It explains how Aro handles personal information in connection with those activities.

Independent model providers, connected services, and extension developers have their own privacy practices. This policy does not govern information they receive independently of Aro.

Information we collect

Information you provide. When you contact us or submit a support or bug report, we receive your contact details, message, and any attachments you include. These may contain logs, screenshots, code, or other personal information. The people handling your request can read this material, so remove credentials and unrelated private information before sending it.

Website information. Our hosting and security infrastructure receives information needed to deliver and protect our websites, including IP addresses, requested URLs, browser information, and request times. Operational logs may contain this information.

Email preferences. If you are on our mailing list, we hold your email address, any name you provided, and subscription preferences. Our websites do not currently offer subscriber signup or contact forms.

How we use information

We use personal information to operate and secure our websites, investigate technical problems, respond to requests, send updates you requested, honor communication preferences, and meet legal obligations. We do not use it for unrelated purposes without an appropriate legal basis and any required notice or consent.

Where European or similar data-protection law applies, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating secure, reliable services and supporting users, unless those interests are overridden by your rights. We rely on performance of a contract where processing is necessary to fulfill an agreement with you, consent where required for requested marketing, and legal obligations where records must be retained or disclosed by law.

You choose what to include in a message to us. We may be unable to resolve a request without the information needed to investigate it.

Our software and model providers

The retired e project stores settings, provider credentials, conversations, and tool activity on your computer. It does not send product telemetry to Aro. Using your own provider connection does not, by itself, send us your coding sessions. We receive session content or diagnostics only if you choose to send that material to us, for example in a support request.

Model requests can include prompts, source files, images, and tool results. They go to the endpoint you configure. Running e on your computer does not mean the model runs locally; a remote provider processes requests under its own terms and retention and training policies. Tools and extensions may also send information to services you connect.

You control local files, exports, and backups. Deleting one copy does not delete copies held by another device, a provider, or someone you shared it with. The e documentation explains storage locations, permissions, and managing local records.

AI training

We do not currently use content you submit to Aro, including code and diagnostic material, to train or improve AI models. Before any such use begins, we will ask for your affirmative opt-in consent. Declining will not affect your access.

This commitment applies to Aro. A model provider or connected service you use independently processes information according to its own policies and your agreement with it.

Cookies and analytics

Our websites do not currently use product analytics, advertising pixels, or session recording. Our website application does not set analytics or advertising cookies or store identifiers to track visitors. Hosting and security providers may use technical cookies needed to deliver or protect the websites.

If we introduce optional tracking, we will update this policy and obtain consent where required before enabling it.

How we share information

We use service providers to operate our websites and communications. Cloudflare provides hosting and security infrastructure, and Resend manages mailing-list records, email delivery, and unsubscribe updates. Correspondence also passes through the email providers used by the sender and recipient. Providers acting on our behalf are subject to applicable contractual and data-protection obligations.

We may disclose relevant information to professional advisers, to comply with applicable law or valid legal process, to address fraud or security incidents, to protect rights and safety, or to establish or defend legal claims. Information may also be disclosed in a merger, acquisition, or other business transfer, subject to applicable privacy obligations.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Model providers and extensions you use independently are not Aro’s subprocessors merely because our software supports them.

Retention and deletion

We retain personal information for the purposes described in this policy and delete or anonymize it when it is no longer needed. Retention depends on the type of record, the request or service involved, security needs, and applicable legal obligations.

Support correspondence is retained while needed to resolve and follow up on a request. Operational records are retained for security and troubleshooting under the provider’s configured retention. Mailing-list details are retained while needed to send requested updates, and limited suppression records while needed to honor opt-outs. Legal obligations or claims may require us to retain particular records longer.

You can contact us about information we hold. Information stored only on your device is managed through your local files and backup controls. For information a provider holds independently, use that provider’s deletion controls or contact it directly.

Security

Our websites use HTTPS. Access to personal information we hold is restricted to the people and providers who need it for the purposes described in this policy. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

The security of local software and records also depends on your device, connected accounts, and backups. e runs tools with your user permissions; use appropriate isolation when working with untrusted code.

If you discover a security issue, report it privately to security@aro.computer. Do not include credentials or other sensitive information in a public issue.

International processing

Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Where applicable law restricts a transfer, we use the safeguards required by that law. Contact us for information about the countries and transfer safeguards applicable to your information and how to obtain a copy where available.

Information sent to a model provider or service you select independently is governed by your arrangement with that provider.

Your rights and choices

Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to learn about, access, correct, copy, or delete your personal information; restrict or object to processing; and withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. To make a request, email legal@aro.computer with enough context to identify your interaction with us. Do not send passwords or API keys.

We may need to verify your identity or an authorized agent’s authority. We respond within the applicable legal period and explain any lawful limitation or extension. Where you have a right to appeal our response, contact us with the details of your original request. We do not unlawfully discriminate against people for exercising their rights.

Where the California Consumer Privacy Act applies, California residents have the rights it provides, including rights to know, access, correct, delete, obtain a portable copy, and opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

You can unsubscribe from marketing using a message’s link or by contacting us. We may keep a limited suppression record to honor your choice. Unsubscribing does not prevent replies to support requests or necessary service or legal communications. Withdrawing consent applies to future processing and does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Children’s privacy

Our websites and support services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information without authorization required by law. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate. Additional requirements may apply under local law or an independent provider’s terms.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices or applicable requirements change. The date above identifies the current version. We provide notice of material changes through the website or another appropriate channel before they take effect where required. If a change requires consent, we obtain it; continued use is not a substitute for that consent.

Contact

For privacy questions, requests, or complaints, contact legal@aro.computer. Include enough information to help us identify the interaction or records your request concerns.
